About Thermal And A Quarter (TAAQ)
Thermal And A Quarter is a trendsetting rock band from Bangalore, India, more recently infamous as the outsourcing capital of the universe. We are three members, three albums and ten years old. We are known as TAAQ to the affectionate and the impatient and have been fortunate to earn the loyalty of a worldwide fan base mostly thanks to that little ditty that Al Gore claims he started, the Internet. We believe that each album sold, each swatch of music played creates a potential messenger of TAAQ’s music.

BIOGRAPHY ::

Chennai is probably one of the cities in India with large number of band counts. It’s a place where several bands show off their talent through different genres of music. One of the reputed names in them is PUBLIC ISSUE. A band that sticks to a wacky genre, comedy alternative funk. Inter department college culturals paved way for the formation of Public Issue. Tibu and Nipun got together for the cultural competition and they roped in fellow classmate, Vinay as their drummer, they found the spark of a perfect combination in them, Public Issue was born then, officially. Since then, their aim was to revive and find their own style of music. Like any other band, they wanted to make it to the lime light. After lot of hard work and lots of practice sessions, they realized that they were the perfect combo for some musical magic. But then, they dint have a convincing vocalist to suit their kind of music. Christopher, a commerce student from MCC marked his arrival then, an amusing front man and the perfect kind of vocalist the band was looking for. It was time for the individually talented musicians to work together as Public Issue. Seven months of hard work, Public Issue was seen competing on national stage. Not only that they placed third at Campus Rock Idols, they also got into the lime light they were thriving for. Some of their songs like From The Top, Swab, !xobile etc.. are among the favorite ones among their fans in India, especially in Chennai. Now, for a band that’s seven months old, the level of progress and achievement is some thing to cheer about.

BIOGRAPHY ::

Formed in September 2006, Frequency is a Delhi based Nu-Age/Electronic/Experimental Band. The band is getting noticed immensely due to its unique sound. Rony, Kushal and Akshay knew each other well and where later joined in by Abhishek and Noel to complete the line-up. Since all the members are from different backgrounds in terms of their individual music tastes, it gives rise to a totally new and original sound.

Recently the band played at Hamsadhwani Theatre, Pragati Maidan with Cyanide, The Superfuzz & Bhayanak Maut as a part of the Channel [V] Launchpad Gig 2007 Finals.

Formed in 2004 by brothers Siddharth and Amitabh. Lucid Recess comes from “Lucid Interval”, a medical term which means a temporary improvement in a patient’s condition after a traumatic brain injury.

A better introduction would be a frisky bassist, a psyched-up drummer and a crazy guitarist….so what?? there have always been bands and they will continue to be…but not bands which can say ‘C Major’is ‘Shankarabharanam’.

Samar and Sanam both started playing music very young. They have undergone training in Hindustani music for 5 years and are equally proficient with western music. Earlier they had their own band in Dubai with other local members playing in different malls and five star hotels, till the year 2004. After that they shifted to Delhi and formed a new band.

This duo play what the audience like. Apart from Hindi and English numbers they also play German hard rock to Italian rock to the baritones in Spanish music.

Influenced By Many artists like U2, Maroon 5, A.R. Rehman, Jal, Kailasa, James Blunt, Josh Groban, Jimi Hendrix, etc.

The duo has created quite a sensation in Delhi. Aaj tak, Sahara NCR, Hindustan Times, Mid Day, Dainik Jagran, Delhi Times, Navbharat Times, Metro Today, and Total TV have all covered them and their performances.
